4 Ways to Improve your Fertility Today

Do you want a quick and easy way to get on the path to better fertility health? Look no further! No one of these tips will ensure that you fall pregnant tomorrow, but each and every one of them will help you on your path to parenthood.

1. Drink Enough Water

I know, I know. We say it all the time, but did you know water helps to balance your hormones? It helps to flush excess hormones from your system and balance everything out. So, when you are chronically dehydrating yourself or existing on iced coffee alone, you’re keeping your hormones out of whack. Balanced hormones are imperative for maturing a follicle, ovulation, and sustaining a fertilized egg. Don’t take for granted how important staying hydrated is. Continually sipping on water every day is more effective than chugging, so try and keep this goal in the back of your mind all day. Aim for at least half your bodyweight, more if you’re still thirsty!

2. Don’t Stress!

I’m not saying you’re going to become a Zen yogi master in one day. Not at all, but be mindful to avoid situations that cause your body stress. Many people don’t realize that allowing themselves to get over hungry is actually an unnecessary stress on the body that releases cortisol. Chronic stress will lead to hormone imbalances, so make sure you are eating healthy snacks throughout the day and avoiding getting hangry. Other ways to avoid stress include being mindful about what emotions are crossing your mind, for example, the traffic is slow and making your commute much longer? Instead think of it as more time to listen to your favorite podcast, audiobook, or playlist. Mindset is everything!

3. Skip the Sips

A crisp glass of wine after a long day can feel like such a decadent reward, but it isn’t doing your hormones or your fertility any favors. Alcohol slows your metabolism, impairs your sleep function, and leads to further imbalance of hormones. It’s delicious, but opt for a different beverage and relax with a walk, dance party, or living room yoga practice.

4. Move Your Body

This seems obvious, but it’s helpful in a variety of ways. First, exercises releases dopamine, which in turn reduces stress. As we’ve already covered over and over, stress leads to hormone imbalance! On top of that, exercise works like adequate hydration in moving out excess toxins and hormones.

Though none of these habits will ensure that you get pregnant today, they will all help in your journey. Keep up these daily habits and you’ll be on your way. If you’re still struggling, reach out to someone who specializes in finding the root cause of you
